International Summer School on Ancient Drama

Theme 2019: Reinventing Ancient Drama on the contemporary stage

July 2- 16, 2019

The Epidaurus Lyceum is addressed to students of Theatre Academies, drama schools, dance schools, performing arts universities and young actors and dancers from around the world.

Number of Students

15-20 students per main practical workshop with a maximum of approximately 120 students for each cycle.

STUDENT ENROLLMENT CRITERIA

Students will be selected by the Epidaurus Lyceum Studies Committee, taking into consideration the open call specifications, in collaboration with a network of Drama Schools, Theatre Academies, universities and art institutions from Greece and abroad.

STUDIES COMMITTEE

The members of the Epidaurus Lyceum Committee of Studies are the following:

a) Vangelis Theodoropoulos, theatre director, artistic director of the Athens & Epidaurus Festival.

b) Georgina Kakoudaki, theatre educator, director, co-curator of the educational programmes of the Athens & Epidaurus Festival.

c) Christos Kardaras, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of the Peloponnese.

d) Anna Tsichli, theatre director, theatre practitioner, member of the Specialized and Laboratory Teaching Staff of the Department of Theatre Studies, University of Peloponnese teaching “Theatre Practice and Directing”.

e) Konstantinos Arvanitakis, theatre director, director of the Athens Conservatoire Drama School.

ACADEMIC FIELDS

Ancient drama, acting, theatre anthropology.

ACCREDITATION

Certificates will be given to all the participants who fulfilled the requirements of the programme.

Accreditation will be provided by the Department of Theatre Studies, Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of the Peloponnese with ECTS credits. Foreign institutions should come to an agreement with the University of the Peloponnese in order to secure the transfer of these ECTS credits.
