Dimos Goudaroulis – Ismael Ivo
Logos – Diálogos
Bach’s music, and more specifically his magnificent suites for solo cello, no doubt provided the impetus. In his bold attempt to measure himself up against Bach’s suites, Dimos Goudaroulis, a distinguished cellist of the Greek diaspora –for the last twenty years he has lived and worked in Brazil– joins forces on stage with Brazilian dancer and choreographer Ismael Ivo. The music performance Logos – Dialogos brings to the forefront the polyphonic dimension of an instrument that is by nature monophonic, and at the same time raises from the depths of Bach’s darkest suite, the Fifth, the suffering body which it treats as another symbol of human anguish.
