OKTANA Dance Τheatre - Konstantinos Rigos
The Free Besieged, Draft B
In Draft B, Konstantinos Rigos, one of the leading figures of the vibrant Greek dance-theatre scene, crosses paths with Greece’s national poet, Dionysios Solomos, using verses from Soloms' The Free Besieged. Inspired by the world-view espoused by the poem’s heroes, the work focuses on the contrasts between freedom and the denial of freedom, and between enclosure and the boundlessness of nature.
