herses (une lente introduction)
Herses (une lente introduction) (1997), a study in nude bodies for five dancers and a cellist with works composed by Helmut Lachenmann, resembles a mobile statue whose constant reformations are closely bound to the music.
“This work is about contact, a direct and ironic confrontation. It deals with certain utopias: the utopia of nature, that of the liberated body surrendered to nature […] Then there is the utopia of the couple, the idea that someone is made for someone else and that their passion will keep them together forever, a sexually stimulating and primordial choreographic motif. And, finally, the utopia of community, the body we share, weak or unconfessed contact.”
