With great success and in a festive atmosphere, the anniversary event of the Athens Epidaurus Festival, on September 30th, celebrating the presentation of the documentary “70 Years of the Athens Epidaurus Festival-Through Their Eyes” and the commemorative volume “Seventy Acts”.
Artists, collaborators, friends of the Festival, journalists, and the Festival’s management attended the event — a night filled with memories, emotion, and a celebratory spirit.
The documentary traces the 70-year journey of the Festival through personal, authentic, and often touching or humorous stories from those who experienced it up close: directors, actors, musicians, set and costume designers, dramaturgs, choreographers, artistic directors, and technicians. A co-production of the Festival with elc productions.
The commemorative volume, an impressive 730-page edition (edited by Panos Giannikopoulos), includes 846 archival items from the Festival’s programs and catalogues, interwoven with posters, photographs, set design studies, and personal notes — a valuable record of its rich history.
