Catherine Diverrès
Blowin’
Catherine Diverrès emerged on the French dance scene during the 1980s as she sought to chart her own route through a decade intent on questioning and breaking with the past. Her dance remains restless and is imbued with a singular poetic vigour. This is her company’s Greek debut.
In Blowin’ (2007), she reveals a kinship with Cunningham in her use of aleatory processes—though with different bodies, sensitivities and techniques and a less formalist vocabulary. The rules of the game: incorporation of improvisation into the creative process, experiments on live music and actively using the spectator.
