Tracing

Following the national and international success of Mothers (Athens Festival, 2012), Iris Karayan returns to Peiraios 260 with Tracing, an exploration of time which takes the concept of the trace as its starting point. Keeping structure at the core of her choreographic approach, Karayan never ceases to try out her ideas on the living dance material brought into being by the performers. Tracing explores the potential for action at the precise moment of its conclusion, when just the trace is left behind. The work plays with the limits of presence within absence by activating movement within a momentary, liminal condition.
