The Herodeon hosts the longest running musical in West End history, with Jesus Christ as the leading character, but seen from the viewpoint of Judas Iscariot. Jesus Christ Superstar, by musical theatre greats Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, is a rock opera seemingly based on the biblical facts of the life of Jesus. An extravaganza with political references, it has seduced audiences with its unorthodox rendering for 45 years now and has been performed more than 3,500 times the world over. Multi-award winning composer Webber whose popular musicals include Cats, Phantom of the Opera and Evita looks at the characters from a different perspective using London’s original cast.
