Shocking accounts from the Amygdaleza migrant detention centre and the odysseys of refugees and immigrants from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh are spliced between excerpts from the Persians and the Suppliants in the documentary theatre performance, We are the Persians! What distance really separates the war-torn zones of Kabul from the incidents of violence and racism in everyday Greek society, the modern-day heralds Hassan, Reza, Chaljl, Aidim, Lefteri and Javad wonder. This gut-wrenching performance grew out of the Station Athens, an art studio for young immigrants and refugees run by the NGO AMAKA.
