A pleasant surprise awaits anyone who‘ll visit the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus on Friday, the 24th and Saturday, July 25 to watch the play “Nekyia” (based on the Rhapsody L of Odyssey) from the Noh theater in collaboration with Michael Marmarinos.
Saturday at dawn, at 6 o’clock in the morning, you may visit the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus in order to attend a ritual of the sun held by the great Japanese Master Rokuro Gensho Umewaka, following an old ritual of Noh.
As the director Michael Marmarinos explains, it’s a ceremony characterized by sanctity, strict standard and ancient monastic codes.
