The Odeon of Herodes Atticus will once again come alive with the inexhaustible Ode to Joy, “Beethoven’s message to humanity,” performed by world-class ensembles. Georges Prêtre, one of France’s last great conductors, conducts the Vienna Symphony Orchestra performing the Ninth along with the renowned Wiener Singverein.
Georges Prêtre dedicates the concert to the late Maria Callas.
