The last time we marvelled at the talents of Linda Kapetanea and Josef Fruzek they were members of Wim Vandekeybus’ Ultima Vez dance company. The pair founded RootlessRoot company in 2006; here they present their work Sudden Showers of Silence: a piece brimming with torrid energy that invokes a dangerous battlefield in its attempt to negotiate the primordial conflict between love and death. A man and a woman, bound by a shared unavoidable fate, come together and part again, battle and embrace each other relentlessly, experiencing death as the only certainty that ties them in life. The constant switching between tenderness and high energy makes the adrenaline levels of the audience fluctuate wildly and unexpectedly.
