Georgina Kakoudaki, co-curator of Athens & Epidaurus Festival for educational programmes, was invited to participate to the 2nd Meeting of Young Artists of Southeast Europe that was held in Thessaloniki. The topic of the meeting was the following: “Ancient Drama and Politics: In quest of the comical.” The meeting formed part of the scheduled activities of the International Network of Ancient Drama of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture.
In the meeting, hosted for the second year in a row by the National Theatre of Northern Greece, Kakoudaki presented the work of Epidaurus Lyceum and also gave a masterclass with the participation of 70 participants from Greece and abroad. The masterclass was entitled “The education I want and the education I get: On the occasion of Aristophanes’ The Clouds.”
As part of the section “Ancient Greek Drama 2018: Ancient drama as performing art,” organized by the Greek Studies Department of the Democritus University of Thrace, Kakoudaki will give a lecture entitled “Polis (cities) and citizens in the framework of the revival of ancient drama in Greece: The case of the Theatre of Epidaurus.”
