Dimos Avdeliodis

The Woman of Zakythos
by Dionysios Solomos

"And before all those others, it was the Woman of Zakythos that entered my mind, who struggles to damage others with her tongue and actions, and was the nation's mortal enemy".

This year marks the start of a Hellenic Festival initiative to inject a theatrical life back into the "empty shells" of Greece's ancient theatres.
In collaboration with DIAZOMA Association - Citizens for the Ancient Theatres, the words of Greece's national poet will ring out in thirty (30) archaeological sites as Dimos Avdeliodis' production of Dionysios Solomos' The Woman of Zakythos, which was staged at last year's Festival, performing Olia Lazaridou, goes on tour around the country.
