Jazz improvisations by Fazil Say & Burhan Öçal The Turkish pianist Fazil Say is already in his third decade as a musical powerhouse. An artist of and for our times, the dramatic intensity of his playing coupled with his exceptional interpretative ability and multifaceted talent have left their mark on the international music scene. A composer who also improvises with ease, he incorporates the sounds and modes of Turkish music into his compositions to great creative effect. In this recital, he will be playing with Burhan Öçal, the virtuoso percussionist whose skill at bridging different musical traditions has earned him an international reputation. [Μ.Μ.]
