Les Musiciens du Louvre – Grenoble
Works by Fauré, Berlioz and Bizet

The repertoire of Marc Minkowski, who in 1982 founded Les Musiciens du Louvre at the tender age of 20, successfully combines popular works, such as Carmen, Die Fledermaus and Manon, with lesser-known gems, such as Boieldieu’s La Dame Blanche and Massenet’s Cendrillon. Based in Grenoble since 1996, these musicians of great sensitivity are coming to Athens to accompany the outstanding Swedish mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter, a singer who has graced numerous recordings and made countless appearances, in what will be her Greek début. She will be performing Les nuits d’été, a cycle of songs composed by Berlioz who set six poems by Théophile Gautier to music.
