Robert Wilson – Mikhail Baryshnikov – Willem Dafoe

The Old Woman

A meeting of luminaries: Robert Wilson, master of the onstage image, Mikhail Baryshnikov, dance legend, and Willem Dafoe, world-renowned film actor and founding member of the famous Wooster Group, bring the absurdist, poetic and ironic universe of one of the great avant-garde Russian authors to life. Daniil Kharms (1905-1942) balanced the cannibalistic impulse with a purity of form, but Stalin’s purges brought his life and work to an end. In The Old Woman, an author tries to write about a miracle worker and ends up having to deal with the corpse of an old woman.
