Sinfonia Varsovia – Krzysztof Penderecki

Χωρίς Τίτλο

Much publicized during the nineteen sixties as a composer of extremely avant-garde works such as De natura sonoris and the Saint Luke Passion, Penderecki’s ambivalent volte face in favour of more traditional sounds and forms kept him in the limelight during the Seventies and Eighties. Brought to the attention of a more general public by his works’ inclusion on the soundtracks of films by Stanley Kubrick and David Lynch, Penderecki, perhaps Poland’s most celebrated contemporary composer, will be appearing in Athens with the Sinfonia Varsovia, the orchestra he now directs.
