The state of contemporary Greek dance, institutional and otherwise
Featuring presentations by guest speakers
A working meeting: an attempt at critical reviewing and creatively exploring the dance landscape in Greece today from the perspective of cultural, political and economic structures. How do we perceive dance institutions from a conceptual and operational point of view? How are dance professionals defined and how do they operate both within institutions and beyond them? What do we hope to achieve from the multi-stranded relationship between dance artists and institutions, and what issues does this relationship raise? Are there aspects of the relationship that would benefit from a closer examination? What of historical and social entropy?
The meeting will include working groups and short presentations by guest speakers.
Moderated by Steriani Tsintziloni, co-curator for Dance
