Monday, June 25, 2018, Vouleftikon Hall, Nafplio, 18.00
For the second year in a row, the Athens & Epidaurus Festival programme Educating Audiences in Ancient Drama, which is held in Argolis, as part of the Epidaurus Lyceum events, in collaboration with the Department of Theatre Studies of the University of the Peloponnese, has successfully run its course.
The closing celebration will take place on Monday, June 25th, at 18:00 (doors open at 17:30) at the Vouleftikon Hall, in Nafplio.
The programme and the various projects of participants will be presented during the closing celebration. Students and adults participating this year across schools, cultural clubs and other venues in Argolis will discuss this year’s and last year’s themes with the audience.
Educating Audiences in Ancient Drama receives economic support by the Municipality of Nafplio and is held under the auspices of the Regional Directorate of Education in the Peloponnese, in cooperation with the Primary and Secondary Education Schools in Argolis.
The 2018 programme was inspired by this year’s Athens & Epidaurus Festival theme, Polis and the Citizen, and has included a number of experiential workshops meant for students, teachers and adult residents of Argolis, as well as for groups of visitors from around the world. The programme is led for the second consecutive year by experienced theatre educators, researchers, directors and theatre artists, and is overseen by the Athens & Epidaurus Festival and the Department of Theatre Studies of the University of the Peloponnese.
The programme was coordinated by Georgina Kakoudaki, director and artistic co-curator for educational issues at Athens & Epidaurus Festival, Christina Zoniou, tenured staff member at the Department of Theatre Studies, teaching acting, and Angeliki Tsakona, theatre researcher and coordinator of the programme Epidaurus Creative Workshop for Children of Athens & Epidaurus Festival.
