Athens Open Air Film Festival - Shakespeare in the City
Macbeth (1971)
by Roman Polanski
Polanski presents a nightmarish version of the celebrated Shakespearean tragedy about the bloody consequences of an insatiable passion for power. Set against the bluff backdrop of North Wales, Jon Finch plays the Scottish warrior hero whose exalted ambitions set in motion a vicious circle of violence: blinded by the prophesies of three witches and the exhortations of his Lady, he will murder his king, Duncan.
