Fête de la Musique
Works by Lavrangas, Beethoven, Dvořák
It has become an annual tradition: the ERT National Symphony Orchestra and Athens Festival will hold a concert at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, honouring the Fête de la Musique, the World Music Day. Free admission.
In the first part, the orchestra will perform Dionysios Lavrangas's Introduction and Fugue on two Greek themes and Beethoven's Concerto for piano and orchestra no 3, in C minor, op. 37, with soloist George-Emmanuel Lazaridis.
In the second part, the orchestra will perform Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 in E minor, “From the New World”, Op. 95.
