VISUAL INSTALLATION
Objects of Common Interest
The original light installation by the award-winning design studio Objects of Common Interest returns to Peiraios 260 this year, having by now become an integral part of the site’s visual identity.
Founded by architects and designers Elena Petaloti and Leonidas Trampoukis – who work between Athens and New York – the studio focuses on the creation of sculptural objects and immersive environments that foreground the relationship between materiality and space. With major international distinctions to their name, including Designer of the Year by Wallpaper (2022) and the Elle Deco International Design Awards (2024), as well as presentations at leading institutions such as the Noguchi Museum and the Vitra Design Museum, the duo – professors of architecture at Columbia University and members of the AD100 list – continue to push at the boundaries of art and design.
Located in the courtyard of Peiraios 260, the installation unfolds as a constellation of luminous tubes in varying shapes and curves, which seem to embrace the architecture of Hall D. Through a dynamic interplay of height and form, the work composes a new, radiant landscape, inviting audiences into a singular sensory experience before and after the performances, activating the industrial surroundings in a manner that feels almost organic.
