ODC Ensemble/Vyrsodepseio - Elli Papakonstantinou
REVOLT ATHENΣ
Athens: a city, a myth, a concept or a protagonist in the Crisis? The ODC Ensemble—the director Elli Papakonstantinou, the dramatist Tsimaras Tzanatos, the actor Roza Prodromou, the visual artist Pantelis Makkas and the director and musician Telemachus Moussas—have created a performance-in-progress on everyday life in Crisis Athens. The performance, which is receiving its Athens première after scoring successes abroad (Barcelona, Vienna, Zagreb), focuses on the socio-political problems facing the Greek capital. However, it is rapidly becoming clear that the whole of contemporary Europe is wrestling with the self-same issues: the suppression of democratic processes and the violation of social rights in the name of ‘security’.
In English, with Greek surtitles.
Strobe lights are being used during the show.
