Stefania Strouza – Apostolos Vassilopoulos

To a certain degree, sacredness is in the eye of the beholder

This visual and sound installation-in-progress addresses the dialogue between East and West (and vice versa), as this has been manifested in the tension between European modernism and its manifestations in the Greek terrain. Taking as their starting point the journey of Le Corbusier and other important exponents of modernism from Marseilles to Athens in 1933 and the release of Pier Paolo Pasolini’s film Medea in 1969, artist Stefania Strouza and curator Apostolos Vasilopoulos propose a reverse take on Greek modernity and its inherent discontinuities.
