A Live Staged Installation With Electronic and Instrumental

Μoby Dick: a novel that has lent itself to the imagination of nearly every literary culture in the world and has produced one of the most iconic characters in literature. M.D. has inspired everyone, and the vast web of associations calls out for the stage. M.D. has a story in it, but The Trackworkers are most interested in the material the story is embedded in. They have created a live installation of sound, video and performance bits, in which many of the motives from M.D. shine through. Quotes from traditional seafarers’ tunes (composition by Leo Dick) mingle with experimental electronic compositions (by Timo Kreuser) played by innovative moving-head speaker robots; nightmarish yet beautiful visions of individuals lost in the masses become visible on ship’s sails; and mysterious black widows start to infest the scene. Immerse yourself in this strange world—a venture that is at times startling and disturbing, at other times, serene and ruminant, and always surprising.
