On 16 and 17 July, audiences watching Live Looping at the Little Theatre of Ancient Epidaurus enjoyed a powerful experience, as popular singer-songwriter Alkinoos Ioannidis transported them to the universe of The Murderess, Papadiamantis’ masterful novella, using the technique of live looping. The performance also featured actress Kora Karvouni as the narrator and virtuoso Haris Lambrakis playing the ney and keyboards.
The first part of the evening featured the last two chapters of The Murderess set to music, whereas the second part included new orchestrations of beloved songs written by Ioannidis, presented by the songwriter through the technique of live looping. The evening came to a close with a truly electrifying a cappella performance of Ioannidis’ song Proskinitis.
