The Athens Epidaurus Festival, as part of the Athens Festival Urban Dance Contest Layers of Street, launches an open call for teenagers (14–17 years old) to participate in a free hip hop dance workshop on 20 June 2026.
The workshop will be led by choreographers Ilias Chatzigeorgiou and Periklis Petrakis, the initiators and curators of the Athens Festival Urban Dance Contest, aiming to introduce participants to the fundamental principles of hip hop dance culture.
The workshop includes:
- Learning basic hip hop dance techniques
- An introduction to the philosophy and aesthetics of hip hop culture
- Development of improvisation skills and personal expression
The workshop is addressed to teenagers with or without prior experience in dancing and seeks to foster an open and inclusive framework for learning and creative expression.
