Euripides Laskarides’ Titans had its premiere at the Athens Festival on 6 June 2017, meeting with great success. The performance, an Athens Festival co-production, was highly anticipated in the wake of Laskaridis’ smash hit Relic (an Athens Festival 2015 production). Titans met with rave reviews and was warmly received by the Athens Festival audiences, as well as spectators and critics across the world.
After its premiere in Athens (6-8/6), the first sold-out performance of Athens Festival 2017, Titans was presented in Turin (19/6), Barcelona (5-7/7) and Amsterdam (13/7).
Titans will return to Athens for three performances at the Athens Concert Hall (23-25 November), before being presented at the Théâtre de la Ville in France (30/11-2/12). The next leg of the world tour will see Titans performed in Portugal, France and other countries TBA.
Inspired by ancient Greek mythology, Titans pays tribute to every failed attempt, individual or collective, at establishing an intact self. Co-existing somewhere between light and darkness, two lonely, sexless creatures falter between the grotesque, the tragic, and the ridiculous.
