For over forty years now, the contemporary dance scene has born the imprint of her choreographic spirit. We welcome Trisha Brown, an important American dancer and choreographer whose unceasing, unbridled explorations comprise a point of reference. Starting out in the nineteen sixties playing a leading role in the experimental work being done at the legendary Judson Dance Theater and exchanging ideas and material with artists from different artistic spheres, she still loves a challenge. And the challenge has been a new one each time: from the forests of her homeland to the lofts of Soho (Foray Forêt), from there to lifts which deify transience when she is inspired by Monteverdi’s opera L’Orfeo (Canto/Pianto), and then back to basic, to the dancer’s body: the eternal source of the most extreme quests (If you couldn’t see me) [K.V].
