Ηaving a sense of responsibility towards everyone involved, i.e. audiences, artists, and employees, the Athens & Epidaurus Festival continues to deliberate and engage in ongoing consultations with its supervising body, the Hellenic Ministry of Culture, anticipating the directives that will result from the collaboration between the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Health Committee of Experts, before proceeding to final decisions about this year’s programme.

We have raised a series of specific questions about the operating capabilities of the Festival, pointing out both the limitations and possible alternatives as far as the preparation and presentation of artistic works is concerned.

Furthermore, we are working together with a team of experts, drawing up an emergency plan regarding the safe operation of all Festival venues, while also remaining in touch with collaborating artists and production managers. We all share the same concern: to make sure that the artistic works will be realised in the best possible terms and that all art professionals (artists and non-artists alike) will be supported. At the same time, we firmly believe that Health comes first, being the prerequisite for any kind of continuity and creation. Bear with us as we continue to ponder possible solutions in an attempt to overcome this complete upset of our original programming.
