More than 240.000 spectators, 2.500 artists, 92 productions, 85 days, 69 years! These are the remarkable end-of-season results of the 2024 Athens Epidaurus Festival!

A record-breaking account, with exciting performances, world premieres, international collaborations, star performers and innovative initiatives.

This year the Festival spread over 13 venues. Bold new collaborations led to unexpected “stages” in Athens, in places such as the Keratsini Fish Market, the Sotiria Hospital, the National Library, the National Museum of Contemporary Art, the Old Parliament and more.

Through a phenomenal range of events, the 2024 edition of the Festival captivated, fascinated, challenged, and moved the audiences. International stars who enjoyed repeated standing ovations, as well as young artists who presented their innovative works created a larger-than -life edition.

Diverse, rich and deeply political, the 2024 programme initiated a dialogue within our audience on sensitive and previously left undiscussed issues, honoured and explored the concepts of Democracy and Justice, celebrated the most vulnerable members of society, presented the most interesting voices of the international artistic scene, promoted the Greek performing arts to leading international guests through our “grape” showcase and, ultimately, raised the bar even higher, showing us the world, as the Artistic Director of the Festival Katerina Evangelatos said, “under a new light”.
