Mahler Chamber Orchestra – Constantinos Carydis
Works by Beethoven, Say, Koukos
Representative of a generation of musicians whose musical sensibilities are not confined to ‘classical’ music, the 40-year-old Fazil Say shares the two sides of his abundant talent with festival-goers: his unique interpretative approach to the classical piano repertoire, which avails itself of jazz-inflected freedoms, and his virtuosic, colourful compositions, incorporating elements of world music. A concert uniting East and West with Konstantinos Karydis, a truly international musician, at the helm of one of Europe’s most dynamic ensembles.
