Useful Information

The Epidaurus creative workshop for children commences at 20:00 and runs until the end of the day’s performance. It will take place at the Xenia Epidaurus / Costume museum venue near the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus parallel to the following Epidaurus performances:

21 & 22 June: Oedipus by Sophocles
28 & 29 June: Oresteia by Aeschylus
5 & 6 July: The Suppliants by Euripides
12 & 13 July: Oedipus Rex by Sophocles
19 & 20 July: Iphigenia in Aulis by Euripides
26 & 27 July: Electra – Orestes by Euripides
2 & 3 August: The Clouds by Aristophanes
9 & 10 August: Prometheus Bound by Aeschylus

The programme includes: The children’s creative workshop, a light snack (which the legal guardians should bring) and in more detail:

20:00 – 20:15: Children and their guardians will meet with the programme’s educators at the designated space and will sort out the children’s personal items (snack, blanket/sleeping bag, pillows for younger children which their guardians should bring).
20:15 -21:00: Children and educators will gather at a designated area. Children will be divided according to age groups, play “meet and greet” games and engage in activities inspired by the archaeological site of the ancient theatre of Epidaurus.
21:00 – 21:30: Snack time and settling down indoors.
21:30 – until the end of the performance: Children will engage in activities connected to the day’s performance at the Epidaurus theatre, with music, visual creations, fairy tales and storytelling, theatre and dance workshops.

Cost: 5 euros for each participating child
Unemployed parents and guardians with more than 3 children: Two for one special, where two children can participate with just one ticket.

The Athens and Epidaurus Festival cannot be held responsible for any health issues (illness, allergies, medication etc) which may arise during attendance. Children attend the programme under their guardians’ responsibility. The space where the programme takes place meets all the prerequisite security standards.
