Manolis Mitsias in concert
40 years: From Eleusina to Herodeion
This year, Manolis Mitsias will be completing his fourth successful decade on the Greek music scene and marking the occasion with a major concert at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus in which he will be retracing his journey from a little village in Halkidiki into the hearts of Greeks everywhere. Mitsias’ voice draws its power from being rooted in the Greek folk song tradition and the Byzantine chant of the Orthodox church, and blossomed in the fertile soil of Greece’s entechno [art] song repertoire and musical settings for Greek poetry. Manolis Mitsias will be accompanied on stage by a large ensemble of popular musicians.
