Lenio Kaklea
Margin Release
The mask or, rather, the notion of the imprint, lies at the heart of Lenio Kaklea’s new performance Margin Release, a duet that she dances with Turkish dancer Kerem Gelebek. This time, the Greek choreographer, who lives and works in Paris, ventures to explore how an object deeply embedded in the traditions of theatre and dance can be turned into a tool for self-analysis, activating at the same time the relationship with otherness. Putting on a mask changes the way we look at and relate to the other body, and obliges us to grapple with the fundamental question of who we are.
