Attis Theatre – Theodoros Terzopoulos
Aeschylus, Prometheus Bound
Prometheus, a mythic figure who forged the origins of European culture, approached through a collaboration between three theatre companies in three countries: the Attis theatre from Greece, Rimini Protokoll from Germany, and Studio Oyuncuları from Turkey. Performances will be staged in Athens, Essen and Istanbul (European Capitals of Culture for 2010).
In his Prometheus Bound, the international director Theodoros Terzopoulos highlights the ontological and political essence of the text through the actors’ expressive corporeal and vocal power. For his part, Jannis Kounellis, a legendary figure from the Arte Povera movement provides a stage/set installation for Prometheus in Eleusina.
In Greek, Turkish and German with Greek surtitles
