Music of the Street: Musicians of the World


Street musicians. Anonymously familiar figures you hurry past as you negotiate the urban labyrinth, their words –songs from their distant homelands or hits that everyone knows in broken Greek and English – mixed up with the horns and traffic noise.


Some are exceptional musicians, but all are virtuosi of the fleeting emotion unsullied by barbarous technology. Taking up residence in the Caravan, the musicians of the street will be bringing us the sound and the excitement of the ephemeral here and now that will be gone tomorrow.
