This concert at the Ancient Epidaurus Little Theatre sees Dionysis Savvopoulos join creative forces for the first time with the pianist and composer Stavros Lantsias and the electronic bass guitar virtuoso Yotis Kiourtsoglou.
They form a new music ensemble that allows them to set their imaginations free, replacing a large orchestra with the inventiveness and musical flexibility of a trio.
This switch in scale is of particular musical interest, as it allows both audiences and the musicians themselves to see how certain songs fare beyond the spectacle of their orchestrations and their revelrous aspects.
With the immediacy and precision of their sound, Savvopoulos, Lantsias and Kiourtsoglou literally reach deep into the songs of Savvopoulos himself to reveal their very essence: their core.
