Garden, Ashes: Experiences of the Performance

Fragments of lived reality coexist with the truth of reminiscences to form the foundations upon which a home is built, an ark of life and memory. Three actors narrate their experiences of the Garden, Ashes performance – snapshots of their personal histories are handed over to audiences unfiltered. Taking Danilo Kiš’ three-part autobiographical work Family Circus as a starting point, the significance of the birthplace is interpreted within the spaces of a neoclassical house, an exploration that takes on dramatic breadth and depth to reveal the singular and unbiased truth of childhood.
