James Thiérrée
Raoul
James Thiérrée’s work is firmly rooted in the circus’s romantic tradition. A multifaceted artist with performance in his genes, he morphs seamlessly between acrobat, dancer and mime with the speed and imperceptibility of a conjurer. This new work narrates in singular fashion the tale of Raoul, who lives his life in peace like another Robinson Crusoe on his desert island. A series of phantasmagorical beasts parade past on stage, drawing us into a fairytale world as Raoul struggles frantically to discover the identity of the stranger who would transform his life into an existential quest.
