Julien Gosselin - Si vous pouviez lécher mon coeur

2666
based on the novel by Roberto Bolaño

Roberto Bolaño, the Chilean author whose writings earned him international recognition and a fanatical readership, died in 2003, leaving behind a thousand-page unpublished novel, 2666. The title reveals the book’s apocalyptic atmosphere, which owes much to the Book of Revelations. The book has five sections and follows inter alia a group of literary theorists in search of a mysterious writer, a teacher on the verge of madness and a perplexed American journalist. Lost police, murders, passion, violence and trafficking form a canvas on which an exhausted Europe of the future and a corrupt America are depicted. Its protagonists seek salvation, but in vain.

The award-winning young director Julien Gosselin and the Si vous pouviez lécher mon coeur collective work the stories and structure of Bolaño’s novel into a six-hour production which challenges the audience to experience an entire universe on the outer limits of reality.
