Simeio Theatre – Nikos Diamantis

Museum of Human Behaviour

Museum of human behaviour is a theatrical installation directed by Nikos Diamantis which uses the Benaki Museum’s spaces to present a metadramatic mosaic of human actions, sounds, images and artefacts. The actors are the living exhibits—funerary objects bearing witness to our civilization. The viewer undertakes to explore the paradoxical performance using maps and signs (or that, at least, is what they think they’re doing) which actually impact both on the sequence of events and the lay-out of the installation. Stripped of its original meanings, the museum becomes a place on the fringe.
