Simeio Theatre – Nikos Diamantis

Museum of Human Behaviour

Nikos Diamantis directs a theatrical installation presenting the drama of the human condition as a collection of diverse exhibits set within the spaces of the Benaki Museum. In its latest version, the performance zooms in on a constructed reality through the use of a museum performance vocabulary. The theatrical insertions of reality into the space transform it into a multi-perspectival stage. Actors and audiences configure diverse routes and alternate interpretations together, casting doubt both on conventional conceptions of what a museum is, and on the very notion of experience.
