Synch
Contemporary Music - New Media - Experimental Film - Educational Programmes

Synch had its first outing in 2004 at the historic industrial complex in Lavrion that housed Greece’s first electric power station. Perfectly “synchronised” with the very latest developments, the Festival invites audiences to experiment with, explore, and discover first-hand all that is happening today in the international music, new media and avant-garde film scenes.

Over the past three years more than 250 artists have performed at Synch events, most of whom were making their Greek débuts. Greek artists have also put in appearances, highlighting the fact that Greece boasts an impressive array of visionary musicians. This year marks the start of a new era as, under the aegis of the Athens Festival, Synch is being moved into the heart of the city to be staged at Technopolis, a beautiful cultural complex belonging to the City of Athens.

Performances by over 90 musicians from around the world, the screening of over thirty short and feature-length digital films, and interactive works by renowned Greek and international artists form this year’s programme, an explosive mix of inventive stimuli that foreshow the sounds and images of the future.
