The memory, when it returns, avenges
“Songs of blood. Songs made of stone. Songs about the dream we will always pursue. Songs to stave off the nightmares closing in upon us, both then and now.”
It is with this in mind that the composer selected the featured songs, which are songs of innocence and memory. “Peoples who hold on to their past can also have a future,” says Thanos Mikroutsikos. “I now feel the need more than ever to express myself in this manner. I want to gather once again all that is worthwhile and show it to people, especially the younger generation, so that they become aware of their heritage.”
