Legendary songs – precious material and absolutely central to the history of 20th-century Greek music – enjoy a second lease of life as Vassilikos presents his personal take on a selection of wonderful songs by Vasilis Tsitsanis. Entitled Sunday Cloudy Sunday, a direct reference to Tsitsanis’ famous “Cloudy Sunday”, this is a mutually beneficial melding of pop culture and the Greek popular music tradition, and Vassilikos is bold enough to try to deal creatively with these priceless originals.
