Michael Cacoyannis
Coriolanus
by William Shakespeare
One of Shakespeare’s Roman tragedies, Coriolanus is a perfect match for the Odeon οf Herodes Atticus. Michael Cacoyannis’ production of this highly political work features his own translation and a well-known cast. Focusing on the rise and fall of its courageous though arrogant hero, the play is set in Rome against a backdrop of class conflict, demagogues and the volatile Mob.
