Athens Open Air Film Festival - Shakespeare in the City
King Lear (1970)
by Peter Brook
Lear’s unstoppable descent into the realms of madness as he watches his empire collapse around him is set in motion by his bizarre insistence on dividing his time between his three daughters on the basis of who declares her love for him the loudest.
Brook’s version of King Lear stars Paul Schofield, a legend of the British stage in the titular role.
