A seascape littered with sinking corpses and sea monsters, where screams subside into complete silence. Pioneering artist Angélica Liddell transformed the delicate issue of immigrants drowned in the waters of the Mediterranean into an eye-opening Bruegel painting seeped in a torrent of words, with writing influenced by the likes of Artaud, Genet and Pasolini. Themelis Glynatsis, one of the most talented upcoming directors of his generation, is interested in texts that expand the limits of theatrical possibility, and here presents a parable-like performance of pulsating symbolism where the spoken word takes on explosive power.
